Das Erwachen der Macht startete im Dezember 2015, Die letzten Jedi kam im Dezember 2017 in die deutschen Kinos. Ursprünglich hatte Disney geplant, Star Wars 9 im Mai 2019 zu veröffentlichen. Weil aber Regisseur Colin Trevorrow ( Jurassic World) im August 2015 durch J. J. Abrams ( Star Trek) ersetzt wurde, musste auch das Startdatum nach hinten verschoben wurden. Die Folgen dürften allerdings wenig dramatisch sein, schließlich fällt die Weltpremiere von Star Wars 9 damit in die Weihnachtszeit. Außerdem geht Disney der internen Konkurrenz mit dem nächsten Avengers -Film, der im Mai 2019 erscheint, geschickt aus dem Weg. Auch die Porgs sind schon ganz gespannt, wie es weitergeht. 2017 Lucasfilm Ltd. Der Aufstieg Skywalkers: Der Titel und seine Bedeutung Mit der Veröffentlichung des Filmtitels Rise of  Skywalker, im Deutschen Der Aufstieg Skywalkers, starteten auch gleich die Spekulationen, wer oder was damit nun genau gemeint ist. Handelt es sich um eine konkrete, einzelne Person oder sind dabei mehrere Personen, die Familie der Skywalker oder ist gleich eine ganze Bewegung gemeint? Gerade Rey, Kylo Ren oder auch Luke Skywalker selbst sind die offensichtlichsten Kandidaten, die mit dem Titel gemeint sein könnten. Oder wird im Star Wars -Finale etwa noch eine weitere Figur eingeführt, die der Familie der Skywalkers angehört? Doch auch andere Theorien machen durchaus Sinn. Ist Rey die im Titel genannte Skywalker. Walt Disney Gerade durch den Umstand, dass der Orden der Jedi im Laufe der Star Wars -Reihe immer mehr demaskiert wurde, spricht für die zahlreichen Theorien, dass mit dem Titel auf eine neue Generation von Machtnutzern mit neuen Idealen angespielt wird. Vielleicht ist es nach ihrer Rolle in den Klonkriegen, Lukes Erfahrungen mit der dunklen Seite der Macht und vor allem den zahlreichen mächtigen Sith (Count Doku, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren) die aus den Reihen der Jedi hervorgegangen sind, ja wirklich Zeit für eine Veränderung. Der ursprüngliche Arbeitstitel lautete „Black Diamond“, wurde aber Anfang 2018 in „trIXie“ umbenannt. Die Gründe für die Änderung sind unbekannt, vermutlich dürfte der neue Titel J. Abrams nach dessen Übernahme der Dreharbeiten einfach besser gefallen haben. Eine tiefere Bedeutung kann also mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit ausgeschlossen werden. Die bisherigen Star Wars -Filme trugen übrigens folgende Arbeitstitel: „Adventures of the Starkiller: Episode 1 – Star Wars“ (Episode IV) „Blue Harvest“ (VI) „The Doll House“ (I) „Jar Jars Big Adventure“ (II) „The Bridge“ (III) „AVCO“ und „Foodles“ (VII) „Space Bear“ (VIII) „Los Alamos“ (Rogue One) „Red Cup“ (Solo) Der Regisseur: Wer dreht Star Wars 9? Regie führt dieses Mal wieder J. Abrams, der schon für Episode 7 verantwortlich zeichnete. Nach aktuellem Stand arbeitet er gemeinsam mit dem Autor Chris Terrio ( Argo, Justice League) am Drehbuch. Episode-8 -Regisseur Rian Johnson soll derweil eine völlig neue Triolgie für das Star-Wars -Universum entwickeln. Der Cast: Welche Schauspieler sind dabei? Ende Juli veröffentlichte Disney die offizielle Liste der Besetzung von Star Wars 9. Darunter sind einige bekannte Gesichter, aber auch neue Schauspieler und ein ganz großer Name aus dem Star Wars-Universum. Daisy Ridley wird wieder als Rey dabei sein. Logisch, schließlich ist die junge Jedi-Schülerin von Luke Skywalker der Hauptcharakter und es sind einfach noch viele Fragen offen, was ihre Vergangenheit und Zukunft angeht. Natürlich ist Protagonistin Rey (Daisy Ridley) wieder dabei. 2017 Lucfasfilm Ltd. Adam Driver verkörpert wieder Kylo Ren, nach Episode 8 und dem Tod von Anführer Snoke nun Kopf der Ersten Ordnung und der große Gegenspieler unserer Helden. Auch auf ihn dürfen wir gespannt sein. Lässt er sich doch noch einmal zur hellen Seite bekehren? Oder befindet er sich inzwischen auf dem endgültigen Pfad zur dunklen Seite? John Boyega tritt erneut als Finn auf. Der Ex-Sturmtruppler hat es weit gebracht. Sein Handlungsstrang ließ aber in Episode 8 im Gegensatz zu den anderen Charakteren etwas nach. Hoffen wir, dass Abrams und Co. sich etwas ganz Spezielles für Finn ausgedacht haben. Finn (John Boyega) ist wieder dabei. Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) eventuell. 2017 Lucasfilm Ltd. Der furchtlose X-Wing-Pilot reifte in Episode 8 und dürfte auch im Trilogie-Finale für jede Menge Action verantwortlich sein. Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) Rose (Kelly Mary Tran) C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) Lieutenant Connix (Billie Lourd) General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyongo) und Lieutenant Connix (Billie Lourd) tauchen ebenfalls auf der offiziellen Besetzungsliste auf. Donald Glover in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Walt Disney Lange brodelte die Gerüchteküche, doch nach einem Bericht von The Hollywood Reporter wurde eine heißersehnte Rückkehr mittlerweile schon bestätigt: Billy Dee Williams wird nach 35 Jahren Sternenkriegspause wieder als Fanliebling Lando Calrissian in Star Wars 9 mit von der Partie sein. Der Ex-Kumpel von Han Solo, der bereits in Das Imperium schlägt zurück und Die Rückkehr der Jedi-Ritter zu sehen war, gehörte lange Zeit zu den am höchsten gehandelten Namen für einen Auftritt im letzten Teil der Sequel-Trilogie. Wie groß seine Rolle sein wird, ist zu diesem Zeitpunkt aber noch nicht bekannt. Neu im Cast sind Naomi Ackie ( Lady Macbeth) Richard E. Grant ( Logan: The Wolverine) und Keri Russell ( The Americans. Welche Rollen die Neuzugänge verkörpern werden, ist bisher noch nicht sicher. Die Gerüchteküche brodelt aber heftig, wie ihr weiter unten lesen werdet. Einige Namen aus Episode 7 und Episode 8 fehlen in der Liste. Trotzdem halten sich hartnäckige Gerüchte, dass Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) DJ (Benicio del Toro) und Snoke (Andy Serkis) zumindest kurze Auftritte haben werden. Gerüchte: Frau Skywalker, die Tochter von Lando & Obi-Wan Daneben gibt es jede Menge Gerüchte, welche Schauspieler wir in welchen Rollen in Star Wars 9 sehen werden: Eher mit Vorsicht zu genießen ist das Gerücht, dass Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars 9 einen Auftritt haben wird. Demnach soll Ewan McGregor wie schon in Episode 1, 2 und 3 den Mentor von Anakin und Luke Skywalker verkörpern. Fraglich ist allerdings, wie der Charakter in die Geschichte passen soll. Allerdings war McGregor als Obi-Wan schon in Star Wars 7 als Stimme zu hören. Ewan McGregor als Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars III: Das Rache der Sith. Lucasfilm Ltd. Eine neue Figur mit dem Namen Jannah wurde wiederum mit Naomi Ackie  besetzt. Viel ist zu ihrem Charakter noch nicht bekannt, außer dass sie früher oder später die Wege von Rey, Poe und Finn kreuzen wird. Ist sie eine Mitstreiterin im Kampf gegen die dunkle Seite? Andere Theorien legen nahe, dass Jannah die Tochter von Lando Calrissian ist. Die Liste der weiteren Gerüchte ist lang. Zum Beispiel die über Mara, im erweiterten (und inzwischen größtenteils als ungültig erklärten) Star Wars -Universum die Ehefrau von Luke Skywalker und Mentorin der Jedi-Schüler ihres Mannes, die letztendlich von ihrem abtrünnigen Neffen Jaecen Solo ermordet wird.  Die Rolle könnte Keri Russell übernehmen. Andere Quellen vermuten, dass Russell als Reys Mutter auftreten wird. Was ist mit Luke und Leia? Nach Han Solo (Harrison Ford) hat Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) als nächster Held der alten Riege das Zeitliche gesegnet. Er selbst deutete seinen Tod schon 2016 an. Allerdings verkündete der Schauspieler auch, dass er in Episode 9 zurückkehren würde. Das könnte über Rückblicke oder seinen Machtgeist der Fall sein.  In der offiziellen Besetzungsliste taucht Hamill jedenfalls auf. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) hatte in Episode 7 seinen großen Auftritt. 2014 Lucasfilm Ltd. TM Interessant ist aber auch, wie es mit Leia (Carrie Fisher) weitergeht. Immerhin ist die Schauspielerin 2016 überraschend verstorben. Lucasfilm-Chefin Kathleen Kennedy zufolge will man auf die CGI-Technik verzichten, die in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story bei einer jungen Leia und beim ebenfalls verstorbenen Peter Cushing in seiner Rolle als Tarkin zum Einsatz kam. Irgendeinen Auftritt muss Leia in Star Wars 9 allerdings haben. Da ihre Szenen in Episode 8 laut Johnson trotz ihres Todes unangetastet blieben, verstarb sie auf der Kinoleinwand auch nicht. Zwischen beiden Filmen soll es aber einen großen Zeitsprung geben. Für Erstaunen sorgte schließlich die offizielle Besetzungsliste, in der Carrie Fisher genannt wird. Regisseur Abrams stellte dort aber direkt klar, dass weder Computereffekte noch eine neue Schauspielerin Leia auf die Leinwand bringen werden. Einen vollends befriedigenden Abschluss der Skywalker-Saga ohne sie zu realisieren, entzog sich unserer Vorstellung. Wir wollten die Rolle niemals neu besetzen und niemals einen CGI-Charakter benutzen. Mit der Unterstützung und dem Segen ihrer Tochter Billie Lourd haben wir einen Weg gefunden, Carries Vermächtnis und ihre Rolle als Leia in Episode 9 zu ehren, indem wir ungesehenes Material aus Episode 7 verwenden. Mit Leia Organa gab es einige emotionale Momente in Episode 8. 2017 Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars 9: Die Handlung Was in Star Wars 9 passieren wird, ist natürlich eine spannende Frage. Offizielle Informationen dazu gibt es noch nicht, wir müssen uns also auf das verlassen, was wir ausgehend von Episode 8: Die letzten Jedi erahnen können. Besonders tragisch ist natürlich, dass sich jede Episode einem der alten Helden widmen sollte. Carrie Fisher erlebt Leias großen Auftritt nun aber nicht mehr, er muss also vermutlich grundlegend geändert werden – und damit auch die Handlung von Star Wars 9. Laut Kennedy wurde das Drehbuch danach fast komplett neu geschrieben. Was die konkrete Handlung angeht, können wir wahrscheinlich das klassische Gut-gegen-Böse-Spektakel erwarten. Nachdem Kylo Ren zeitweise der guten Seite zugeneigt wirkte, erhebt er sich zum Ende von Episode 8 als Anführer der First Order. In Episode 9 wird er also als Nachfolger von Supreme Leader Snoke der Hauptgegner des Widerstandes sein – und sich vielleicht doch noch bekehren lassen? Kylro Ren hat sich mit seiner inneren Zerrissenheit zu einem spannenden Gegenspieler entwickelt. 2017 Lucasfilm Ltd. Eine Chance, ihn doch noch auf die gute Seite zu holen oder ihn endgültig zu besiegen, hat wahrscheinlich nur Rey. Sie übernimmt als Machtbegabte auf der guten Seite die Rolle des letzten Jedi und tritt in die Fußstapfen von Luke Skywalker. Ohne General Leia Organa könnte sich der durch die Ereignisse von Episode 8 gereifte Poe Dameron zum Anführer des Widerstandes erheben. Admiral Holdos aufopferungsvoller Tod sollte zumindest einen bleibenden Eindruck beim rebellischen Draufgänger hinterlassen haben. Zwischen Finn und Rose scheint sich außerdem eine zarte Romanze anzubahnen. Da seine Zuneigung vorher Rey galt, könnte das womöglich für Spannungen sorgen. Im Großen und Ganzen können wir aber ziemlich sicher damit rechnen, dass sich der stark dezimierte und geschwächte Widerstand neu erheben wird, um der First Order in einer letzten Schlacht um die Galaxie entgegenzutreten. Hoffentlich gibt es in Episode 9 noch einige epische Raumgefechte zu sehen. 2017 Lucasfilm Ltd. Wer sind Reys Eltern? Eigentlich haben wir die Antwort auf diese Frage schon bekommen. Kylo Ren bezeichnet sie in Episode 8 als „Niemand“. Ein spannender Gedanke, dass mal jemand das Star-Wars -Universum unsicher macht, der nicht aus dem Hause Skywalker oder Solo stammt. Trotzdem wollen wir uns nicht so ganz damit zufrieden geben. Immerhin muss Kylo längst nicht die Wahrheit sagen. Laut Rian Johnson ist die Frage nach Reys Herkunft deshalb weiterhin offen. Wer Rey wirklich ist und wo sie herkommt, liegt ihm zufolge in der Hand der Autoren von Episode 9 – also Abrams und Terrio. Für Johnson sei es eine dramaturgische Entscheidung gewesen. Hätte Kylo Ren einfach zwei Namen genannt, hätte es das Rey viel zu einfach gemacht. Sie musste aber als Heldin selbst reifen und lernen, auf eigenen Beinen zu stehen. Damit könnte es durchaus noch eine große Enthüllung geben, immerhin war Johnsons Entscheidung damit wichtig für den Moment, aber nicht unbedingt für die Gesamthandlung. Wer sind Reys Eltern. Walt Disney Mittlerweile scheint es so, als ob die Frage um die Identität von Reys Eltern lange nicht so eindeutig geklärt ist, wie es uns Kylo weismachen will. So verriet J. Abrams in einem Interview mit The Collider: „Wir haben die Ereignisse von Episode 8 berücksichtigt. Aber da gehört mehr zu der Story [um Reys Eltern]  als ihr bisher gesehen habt. “ Rey-Darstellerin Daisy Ridley wurde sogar noch deutlicher und bestätigte im Interview mit USA Today: „J. Abrams sagt, dass die Frage beantwortet wird. Also werdet ihr am Ende des Films wissen, was Sache ist. “ Wir dürfen also gespannt sein, was wirklich hinter dem Geheimnis um Reys Herkunft steckt. Der erste Trailer zu Star Wars 9: Der Aufstieg Skywalkers Am 12. April wurde der erste Teaser-Trailer zu Star Wars 9 veröffentlicht. Neben einem megacoolen Backflip über einen Tie-Fighter durch Rey, verschiedenen kurzen Kampfszenen und dem Millennium Falken gibt uns dieser erstmals ein Gefühl für das, was kommen wird. Details zur Handlung lassen sich aus diesem atmosphärischen Bildmaterial aber immer noch nicht herauslesen. Überzeugt euch selbst: Rückkehr des Imperators: Darth Sidious in Star Wars 9 dabei? Eine große Enthüllung haben die Macher dann aber doch noch am Ende des Trailers enthüllt. Und die hat es in sich! Denn das manisch-bösartige Lachen  wurde von Star Wars -Fans erster Stunde natürlich sofort erkannt. Es gehört nämlich zu einem der wohl mächtigsten Widersacher der Jedi: dem Imperator alias Darth Sidious. Wird er der neue Bösewicht für Star Wars: Der Aufstieg Skywalkers? Doch Moment mal: Ist der Imperator nicht schon in Episode 6 gestorben? Das stimmt, denn im Finale der Originaltrilogie wurde der fiese Sithlord von Darth Vader höchstpersönlich in einen der tiefen Schächte des Todessterns geworfen. Seither galt Darth Sidious, der auch für Order 66 und den Genozid an den Jedi verantwortlich ist, offiziell als mausetot. Der Imperator ist doch nicht so tot, wie wir glaubten. Lucasfilms Das könnte sich nun mit Star Wars 9: Der Aufstieg Skywalkers  wieder ändern. Dabei drängen sich gleich mehrere Fragen auf: Wie hat Darth Sidious überlebt? Schließlich kommt zum eigentlichen Sturz auch die völlige Zerstörung des Todessterns dazu. Wurde er gerettet oder nutzte er einen geheimen Sith-Trick? Wurde er vielleicht wiederbelebt? Schon gegenüber Anakin sprach in Episode 3 von den Möglichkeiten der Unsterblichkeit durch die dunkle Seite der Macht. Eine fast genauso dringliche Frage andere kommt aber auch noch hinzu: Warum tritt er erst jetzt in Erscheinung? Schließlich hat er dem Erstarken der Neuen Ordnung unter der Führung seines Quasi-Sith-Konkurrenten Snoke tatenlos zugesehen. Oder auch nicht? Gehört alles zu einem großen Plan? Eine andere Möglichkeit wäre natürlich, dass uns der Trailer schlichtweg an der Nase herumführen soll. Doch nichtsdestotrotz: Wir sind gespannt, ob und wie all diese Fragen in Star Wars 9 beantwortet werden. Wer verabschiedet sich aus dem Star Wars-Universum? Seinen letzten Auftritt legt John Williams in Star Wars 9 auf das Parkett. Der Filmkomponist gehört zu den bekanntesten Persönlichkeiten seines Fachs und war in allen bisherigen Star Wars -Filmen (bis auf Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) zu hören. Er steckt hinter den eingängigen Titelmelodien von Filmen wie Jurassic Park und Indiana Jones. Nach 41 Jahren als Teil des Star Wars-Universums macht der 86-Jährige nun aber Schluss. Wie geht es nach Star Wars 9 weiter? Höchstwahrscheinlich wird Disney an einigen der geplanten Projekte aus dem Star Wars -Universum trotz des Flops von Solo: A Star Wars Story, den wir bereits vorausgeahnt hatten, festhalten. Kaum ein Film-Franchise verspricht einen derart sicheren Gewinn, nur Marvel kann da mithalten. Gut für Disney, dass auch das MCU zum Konzern gehört. In Planung ist bereits eine neue Trilogie, die von Rian Johnson umgesetzt werden soll. Der Regisseur erntete für Star Wars 8: Die letzten Jedi zwar nicht nur positive Kritik, will aber trotzdem an seinen Visionen festhalten. Den ersten Film der neuen Trilogie soll Johnson selbst drehen, das Skript kommt ebenfalls vom 44-Jährigen, der nach eigener Aussage schon im Arbeitsprozess steckt. Der Skywalker-Zyklus endet mit Star Wars 9. Lucasfilm Die neue Trilogie soll abseits des Skywalker-Zyklus, der Episode 1 bis 9 abdeckt, spielen. Viel mehr ist noch nicht bekannt. Neben Johnson arbeitet Ram Bergmann als Co-Produzent an dem Projekt. Bergmann hatte bereits bei Star Wars 8, Brick und Looper mit Johnson zusammengearbeitet. This may be JJ's worst directing ever. The whole film is choppy and overall feels very disjointed and as if it was cobbled together by splicing 5 other films together.
Overall it's not memorable not satisfying in its conclusion or fan service. The character arcs are poorly written and do not feel earned and the villain is a contrived joke that I can't believe they actually went with.
That said, Babu Frik is adorable.
5/10 skip it.

There will be people who like this movie. Despite the corporate manipulation and the anger that TLJ has built up, i think im gonna be one of them. I do not support corporations, but i support the crew and their best efforts to make it into something. There is nothing worse than a lazy movie and the new starwars movies are anything but that. Even if the movie sucks and is as bad as leaks calim it to be, im gonna enjoy it like i enjoy phantom menace and attack of the clones. Starwars is one of the few franchises that make me feel like a child again.

I was not bored for a single moment once watching this movie. The movie is humorous and action packed. J.J Abram brought back star wars from the brink after the Ryan Johnson fiasco that was the last jedi.
Way to go Disney.
I know this review doesn't go into details of what happens in the movie, I just recommend that you as the viewer, go and see the movie for yourself, and let the past die ( the last jedi. kill it if you must.

The Grudge was the biggest piece of crap I've seen. It makes Slenderman look good. There were two scenes that I know were supposed to create tension and the audience just burst out laughing. Straight trash, I wouldn't even use a free movie pass to see it.

The original was quit amazing, then they decided to remake it into a US version of course was not that bad, they then did 2 more b grade moies and decided to remake the whole thing once more.

Se esitettiin ensi kertaa Carnegie Hallissa 13. joulukuuta 1928 Walter Damroschin johdolla. Keväällä 1928 Gershwin matkusti lomalle Eurooppaan, ja Amerikkalainen Pariisissa -teos syntyi sen aikana. Kirjoittaessaan sävellystään Gershwin halusi toisaalta kuvata kuohuvaa ja iloista Pariisia, toisaalta – ehkäpä vielä enemmän – tuntemaansa koti-ikävää Pariisin bulevardeilla. Teoksen nimestä huolimatta säveltäjä kirjoitti sen pääosin Wienissä; orkestroinnin hän viimeisteli Pariisissa. Alan Rudolphin elokuva Amerikkalaisia Pariisissa (The Moderns) kuvaa tuon 1920-luvun Pariisin taiteilijapiirejä värikylläisen fiktion keinoin. Elokuvan päähenkilö on Pariisiin kotiutuva amerikkalainen taidemaalari Nick Hart, jonka ystäväpiiriin kuuluvat niin Ernest Hemingway kuin Gertrude Stein ja Alice B. Toklas. Alan Rudolph kypsyi elokuvaohjaajaksi Robert Altmanin opissa, ja mestarinsa Altmanin tapaan hän ohjaa suvereenisti moniäänisiä elokuvia, joissa yhden tai kahden päähenkilön sijaan seurataan kokonaista ryhmää. Laulaja-tanssija Josephine Baker oli ensimmäinen tummaihoinen maailmantähti. Josephine Baker varttui itse rutiköyhissä oloissa. Adoptiolapsilleen hän halusi tarjota paremmat oltavat. Suomalaisittain Baker on kiinnostava etenkin, koska yksi hänen adoptiolapsistaan, Jari, oli suomalainen. Kaikkiaan adoptoituja lapsia oli 12, kukin maailman eri kolkasta. Bakerin ideana oli osoittaa omalla esimerkillään, että kansat saattoivat elää sopusoinnussa keskenään. Hän kutsui lapsikatrastaan sateenkaariheimoksi. Notre Damen kellonsoittaja (1956) Ranskalaisen kirjailijan, Victor Hugon, suosittu tarina on kerrottu ja kirjoitettu uudelleen monta kertaa 1800-luvulta lähtien. - Tässä vuoden 1956 versiossa, jonka on ohjannut Jean Delannoy, kyttyräselkäistä Quasimodoa esittää amerikkalainen näyttelijä Anthony Quinn. Musikaali on saanut inspiraationsa samannimisestä Oscar-palkitusta elokuvasta vuodelta 1951 ja sen Broadway -versio on palkittu Tony-tunnustuksella. Lisäksi se on saanut huikeat arvostelut, peräti 28 kriitikkoa on antanut teokselle viiden tähden arviot. Nyt nähtävä musikaali on kuvattu Lontoon West Endistä ihastuttavaksi elokuvateatterikokemukseksi.  Jerry Mulligan on amerikkalainen sotilas, joka haaveilee taidemaalarin ammatista. Saapuessaan Pariisiin hän näkee mahdollisuutensa kaupungissa, joka huokuu toivoa ja mahdollisuuksia ja hän päättää lähteä tavoittelemaan unelmaansa. Ihminen ilman luottohistoriaa on epäilyttävä. Pelkän käteisen käyttö merkitsee, että henkilö on niin surkeassa jamassa, ettei hänelle myönnetä edes luottokorttia. Silloin pysyvät kaikki ovet kiinni: asunnon saanti on mahdotonta ja sen myötä työpaikan ja tavaroiden hankinta. Kierre pysyvään köyhyyteen on valmis. Velkoja on osattava myös hoitaa ja maksaa ajallaan. Kallis virhe on kuitenkin maksaa velat kokonaan pois, sillä silloin luottohistoria katoaa. Myös pikavippejä tarjoavien yritysten toimintaa pyritään valvomaan, mutta laittomasti toimivien yritysten määrä on edelleen suuri. Suurimmassa hädässä ovat ne asuntovelalliset, jotka ennen ruplan kurssin romahtamista ottivat lainan ulkomaisessa valuutassa eli dollareissa tai euroissa. Valuuttalainoja kaupiteltiin pienemmillä koroilla, eikä moni osannut ajatella kurssiriskiä. Ruplan arvon luisuminen kuitenkin lähes kaksinkertaisti monien velan. Nyt valuuttalainojen suosio onkin romahtanut. Asuntolainojen korot ovat suomalaisittain Venäjällä hyvin korkeita ja maksuajat suhteellisen lyhyitä. Parhaimmillaankin asuntovelasta maksetaan yli kymmenen prosentin korkoa. Yli 20 vuoden maksuaika on harvinaisuus. Velanotto on Venäjällä monessa mielessä sukupolvikysymys. Neuvostoliiton asuntokannan yksityistäminen 1990-luvun alussa ratkaisi vanhempien ikäluokkien asunto-ongelmat. Vasta nuoremmat sukupolvet ovat joutuneet turvautumaan suuriin asuntolainoihin. Kalliin samppanjapullon ostaminen yökerhossa velaksi ei välttämättä kerää seurueen ihailua, sillä kerskaileva kuluttaminen saati sillä pröystäily ei kuulu ranskalaisuuteen. Rahaa käytetään kotimaanmatkailuun, kohtuuhintaisiin ravintolaillallisiin ja alennusmyynneistä koluttuihin laatuvaatteisiin. Esimerkiksi kalliisiin autoihin tai kodin design-kalusteisiin ei Ranskassa juuri törsätä. Moni ranskalainen ajatteleekin, että jos rahaa ei ole, ei sitä kannata kuluttaa. Tähän vaikuttaa osaltaan myös lainojen ja luottojen tiukka sääntely. Etenkin asuntolainan saaminen on keski- ja pienituloisille kotitalouksille hankalaa, sillä pankkien asettamat ehdot ovat selvästi Suomea tiukempia. Niinpä oman asunnon osto Pariisista tai muusta isommasta kaupungista jää monelle haaveeksi. Myöskään esimerkiksi yliopisto-opintoja ei ole Ranskassa tapana rahoittaa velalla vaan tavallisemmin työnteolla, stipendeillä tai vanhempien avustuksella. Koulusta ei toisaalta paranekaan valmistua valmiiksi velkaantuneena, työpaikat kun ovat ranskalaisille vastavalmistuneille tätä nykyä kiven alla. Paljon puhutaan myös ranskalaisten vähäisestä luottamuksesta maansa tulevaisuuteen. Jos pankista ei saa lainaa huonon luottokelpoisuuden takia, rahaa voi hankkia epävirallisista lähteistä, vaikkapa netin vertaislainasaiteilta, mutta silloin korko voi nousta 16–20 prosenttiin. Pahimmat koronkiskurit voivat nyhtää jopa sadan prosentin vuosikorkoa, jos usko lainan takaisinmaksuun on huono. Kiinalaisista 90 prosenttia omistaa asuntonsa, mikä on kansainvälisessä vertailussa paljon. Asuntolainaa varten pitää ensin säästää 30 prosenttia kauppasummasta, ja ennakkosäästöt haalitaan usein vanhemmilta. Myös opiskelijat marssivat pankin sijaan vanhempiensa pakeille. Opintolainaa kiinalaiset ottavat harvoin, koska vanhemmat usein kustantavat lapsensa opiskelun. Vastaavasti vanhemmat odottavat, että lapsi pitää huolta ikääntyvistä vanhemmistaan. Kuluttajien velkaantuneisuus on noussut viiden vuoden aikana kolminkertaiseksi, ja vaikka tulotkin nousevat vuosittain nopeaan tahtiin, velan määrä suhteessa tuloihin on kasvanut. Kiinassa ajatellaan, että jos lainaa suinkin saa, sitä kannattaa myös ottaa, koska inflaation takia rahan arvon uskotaan laskevan. Monilla nuorilla aikuisilla on 2–3 luottokorttia, jonka seurauksena päällä on koko ajan vähintään pieni velkakierre – yhdellä luottokortilla maksetaan toisella kortilla kertyneitä velkoja. Kiinassa koko talous on hyvin velkaantunut. Velan määrä suhteessa bruttokansantuotteeseen on samaa tasoa kuin EU-maissa ja Yhdysvalloissa. Gene Kelly plays Jerry Mulligan, a painter whose work becomes the conquest of an heiress whose intentions go beyond his work. While her intentions have promise, he becomes smitten with an attractive French woman, played by Leslie Caron. His pitch is creepy with his watchful eye from his table. Any other guy is up on charges but not Gene Kelly. Anyway they end up hooking up, which complicates things with the heiress who wrestles with jealousy. Another complication regards her engagement to a man whom she owes her life to. One issue regards corny musical numbers that seem placed just to fill time. Another issue regards an ending that is as obvious as day and night. What works is a detailed structure that thankfully doesn't introduce Caron until midway through. Kelly is exciting in his passion and dancing expressing his love for one woman while avoiding another. Caron is sunny as the object of his desire. Nina Foch does a fine job as the heiress whose loneliness is never overturned. Oscar Levant plays a struggling concert pianist who knows the ends and outs of the love triangles. Georges Guetary is featured as a French musician. A dashing portrait of Paris culture and the longing for acceptance. Score: 8 / 10.
